B...TODAY I FOUND THIS STORY ABOUT YOU AND YOUR MOM. BEAUTIFUL, I HAVE TO BE TRUTHFUL. FIRST I SMILE, THEN MY EYES FILLED UP WITH HAPPY TEARS THEN I SMILED AGAIN. I WISH I HAD HALF THE GUTS YOUR MOM HAD IN THIS STORY..I TRY NOT TO HAVE PITY PARTIES BUT SOME DAYS I DO.IT'S BECAUSE GRAMPS HAS TO DO HOUSE HOLD JOBS THAT I ALWAYS DID. AS FOR INSIDE THE HOUSE THE DUST JUST GETS THICKER AND THICKER. I NEVER WORKED OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. I WAS JUST A MOM AND WIFE. ALWAYS HAD SUPPER ON THE TABLE WHEN GRAMPS WALKED IN THE DOOR FROM WORK.ETC. THATS WHAT MOMS DID AND MAYBE THAT'S WHY OUR MARRIAGE HAS LASTED GOING ON 52 YEARS. YOU ARE VERY SPECIAL DR. SWILL OR WHOEVER YOU ARE. JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING. MY FRIEND CAME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND STILL FEELS VERY BAD. OLD AGE STINKS. I DO MY BEST FOR HER BY BEING THERE FOR HER AS FOR ANY WORK THAT I CAN'T DO.

ENJOY THE DAY, THE SUN IS SHINNING HERE IN THE TAMPABAY AREA.

TG LOVE YOUR STORIES.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534989275451072860.post-8856384569547730942007-09-04T13:20:00.000-07:002007-09-04T13:20:00.000-07:00Brian,You WILL grow old. You WILL have stray hairs...Brian,
You WILL grow old. You WILL have stray hairs growing out of your ears and nose. You WILL earn the right to become a crotchety old man. You WILL have the chance to get senior discounts and snag food from the buffets and put them in a baggie and stick it in your pocket!!

I think people just don't know what to say. Do they feel guilty for laughing or scared of what they are reading? Or maybe just awed by your chutzpah and fight and strength?

Or intimidated because few can write like you do.

I don't know. But, just keep on writing. I still think it is going to make an incredible book. Hell, even a Lifetime movie!!

BTW, I did read the latest post and I didn't comment. BAD ME! ;(

Huggles,
moweenieMaureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16446263206899252460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534989275451072860.post-74090574141514025042007-09-04T09:44:00.000-07:002007-09-04T09:44:00.000-07:00I guess I'll be the same way when (if) I grow old!...I guess I'll be the same way when (if) I grow old! I just wish we both weren't so sick we could have more fun!

I have a great story about a lil old lady I drove from Detroit to LA, took her on the set of Hart to Hart and she disappeared only to have security drag her back...lol
Precious moments for sure!

I'm hoping more people will read here. Just seems odd over 800 visitors in one month and very few comments. Makes me wonder.Dr. Swillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05054768538653182642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534989275451072860.post-53013481813965030572007-09-02T05:51:00.000-07:002007-09-02T05:51:00.000-07:00Aww, that was such a cool story!! Your mom sounds ...Aww, that was such a cool story!! Your mom sounds A LOT like my mom! Except, my mom WOULD have made her way to the stage!! No stopping her!! I took her to see a taping of John Tesch and Leeza Gibbons (a million years ago!!) and she actually made the promos and had on air time with them!! She was "famous" in her Senior bldg. when she got home! And I don't think she stopped grinning and talking about it for years!

Thanks for making me think about that again ;)

Huggles,
moweenie

See Brian, your book IS helping other people already! ;)Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16446263206899252460noreply@blogger.com
