Hello,

Love reading your blog. We are in the same boat. I'm also a tongue cancer survivor. Also lost my whole tongue. Your blog is both inspiring and motivating.

Sharifah,

What a beautiful name. Thank you for saying, "Hello" and leaving such a kind comment. I have visited your site and it seems like we have a lot in common. So close yet so far so to speak. How are health care and treatment options in Malaysia?

I'm glad you found me. I have many visitors from all over the world, but most have some type of other cancer. If there is anything you'd like to discuss, please feel free to ask. I know family and friends try to understand, but they just can't comprehend the magnitude of this issue. It seems you're doing well. I wish you the best and hope you continue to make progress!!

Peace
B

Hi B,

Yes, we do have a lot in common. I've been on tube feeding for about 2 months now. My mouth waters when I read about the grilled hot dog and marshmallows and could just taste it in memory but as least we are alive and kicking, right. I guess thats what matters at this point.

About the health care in Malaysia, we have excellent surgeons in the government hospitals. I got my treatments in a government hospital. Being a government servant, all my treatments have been paid by the government and I don't have to pay a single cent. So, I've been fortunate in that department. However, the after care is really poor. In my case for instance, I didn't get the speech or swallow therapies. We just have to adjust to the new normal on our own, sad to say.

You are doing well yourself. Wish you the best.

Bye.
Sharifah
