The picture above shows two human cancer cells sitting next to each other just before they're about to divide into four cells. They're derived from the now famous "HeLa" line of cancer cells, which were taken from Henrietta Lacks in 1951 and used for medical research without her permission. Henrietta was a cervical cancer patient who died in 1951 from her disease. The HeLa cell is termed "immortal" because of its unlimited ability to contiue its reproduction. It's amazing that something so beautiful can be so deadly!

MY PRIZE IS KNOWING YOUR ALIVE AND FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT. YOUR A MUCH BETTER PERSON THAN I WILL EVER BE. WHEN GRAMPS WAS TOLD HE HAD CANCER A FEW YEARS AGO I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK AND DIE. THE SEEDING HE HAD DONE DID THE TRICK. CANCER FREE SINCE 1998. I'M NOT A STRONG PERSON WHEN SICKNESS HITS MY OWN FAMILY. COME MONDAY MY BEST FRIENDS' HUSBAND WILL BE HAVING HIS BLADDER TAKEN OUT.[CANCER]. THEY FLEW OUT TO SAN FRANCISCO JUST THIS WEEK FROM FLORIDA. HER SON'S A DOCTOR. HE KNOWS GOOD DOCTORS THERE. HE'S BEEN FIGHTING CANCER IN THIS AREA FOR SOME TIME NOW. THE HOSPITAL IS IN PALO ALTO. MY HEART WILL BE THERE ALL DAY MONDAY.
