Back to Houston

I DREAMED A DREAM

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. Life just seems to move more quickly post cancer. I still don't have the energy I once had. I have been receiving a lot of email asking questions about my cancer. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I am putting together a post of the most common questions and will get that up soon. Most of the questions can be answered somewhere here on the blog, in the archives. I am trying to put it all into one easy post for the newer readers by answering the most asked questions.

Today I am preparing to fly to Houston to see my doctors and audition for America's Got Talent. Yup, I'm gonna do it. I never dreamed I would ever be able to sing again after 2 1/2 years on a feeding tube unable to eat solid foods. I feel I need to inspire others and sing for my fellow cancer patients who are unable to at this moment. It's time to give back and give them hope.

I'm still bandaged, in a lot of pain, and SO out of my element. I don't know if I have the strength to get through it, but I'm giving it my best and if something goes wrong the Cancer Center is just down the road! I'm not even there yet and already I'm thoroughly exhausted! I'm so tired of being tired!

I'm not sure how much of the process I am allowed to discuss. I will find out more when I audition. The contracts appear to restrict what can be discussed until after the show airs.

This is a preliminary audition that I don't think will be televised, but it will be taped. It will not be in front of the celebrity judges, but producers. I think if I make it through that round, then I compete on TV.

Wish me luck!
Peace B

AM I READING YOUR BLOG TODAY SAYING YOU HAD ANOTHER OPERATION? [BANDAGED] IF SO, I'M SO SORRY. MY DAUGHTERS' BEST [SISTER LIKE] FRIEND AND LIKE MY OTHER DAUGHTER JUST GOT BACK FROM MD ANDERSON HOSPITAL THIS PAST WEEKEND. THEIR DAUGHTER HAS A RARE CANCER THAT THEY DIDN'T OPERATE ON. THEIR TAKING HER UP TO MARYLAND IN HOPE A TREATMENT WILL HELP. IT'S HAS SPREAD TO HER LIVER.[12 YEARS OLD] MY THOUGHTS HAVE BEEN ON HERE BUT TRYING TO KEEP HUMOR IN MY LIFE AT THIS TIME. MY PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS HAVE BEEN FULL OF SELF AND OUR SIDNEY. SHE NEEDS A MIRACLE WHICH ONLY GOD CAN GIVE. SHE WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE CANCER IF IT WASN'T FOR HER CHECK UP FOR SPORTS. SHE FEELS FINE FOR NOW.
SO DOC, SING, SING, SING. I LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE. I'M JUST NOT THAT STRONG. I LIVE ON FAITH. MY GOD IS AN AWESOME. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND MAKE HIS LIGHT SHINE ON YOU.

Thank You TG!

No new surgery. I have always been bandaged up. I have a lot of skin issues in the radiation field. It is not normal, but I still have issues with it.

You know I don't care about your spelling. I love your kindness and well wishes.

In Houston now with my nephew to help. Need to get some sleep...g'night

Thank you!

Dearest Brian,

I'm so, so happy about your brave attempt for the audition and I do hope that you'll make it. Please inform me on the outcome. Wish I could be there for the audition.

You mentioned that you are still bandaged. Why is that?

Anyway, good luck to you on the audition and the doctors' visit. Do let me know how it goes.

Bye, for now.

DOC, IS THIS YOU SINGING MAN OF FAITH? I LOVE THIS SONG.I NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE.

M D ANDERSON HOSPITAL WOULDN'T OPERATE ON MY 12 YEAR OLD YOUNG FRIEND. THEY CAME BACK AND SHE WILL BE HEADING TO A HOSPITAL IN MARYLAND FOR SOME KIND OF TREATMENT NOT YET APPROVED, BUT SEEMS TO BE HELPING ANOTHER LITTLE GIRL. CANCER IS NOW IN HER LIVER. IT'S A VERY STRANGE CANCER THAT ONE IN MILLIONS GET. THERE'RE TUMORS IN THE TYHROID AREA ALSO. THE DOCTORS WOULDN'T TOUCH THEM. THAT'S ALL I KNOW ABOUT HER CASE. WE ARE VERY UPSET FOR HER. SHE SHOWS NO SIGN OF BEING SICK BUT WHAT THE PARENTS[OUR FRIENDS] SAY IT'S GOING TO BE HARD ON HER SOON.
ALWAY A MIRACLE, RIGHT?

THERE'RE SOME THINGS WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER SO WHAT'S LEFT IS PRAYER.

No TG,

That's not me. His name is Chris Pierce from NYC. He's pretty good huh?

I so hate to hear how children have to deal with cancer...it makes me angry. I saw a few during my treatment. I hope your little friend is getting better. I find it odd that MDA would not treat her, but maybe there was a better doctor or treatment for her type of cancer in Maryland.

With the cancer in the tyroid and liver, that doesn't sound good. We can only hope for a miracle.

I HEAR YOU. THEY LEAVE SAT. FOR MARYLAND TO BEGIN TREATMENT. I TRY TO HAVE FAITH BUT WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT IT BEING IN THE LIVER, MY FAITH SLOWS DOWN. HER MOTHER IS LIKE ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS.SHE'S MY DAUGHTERS BEST FRIEND. IT HURTS BAD. I NEED TO HAVE A GOOD CRY BUT IF I LET LOSE I'M AFRAID I WON'T STOP. SO I GO ON JOKNG AROUND AND TRY SO HARD NOT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT'S AHEAD FOR HER THE NEXT THREE MONTHS. ONLY GOD CAN GIVE HER A MIRACLE. IF SHE DOESN'T GET ONE, LIFE WILL GO ON AND WE'LL REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES SHE MADE US SMILE ETC. FOR NOW YOU WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW SHE HAD SUCH A BAD CANCER.

BOY I LOVE THAT SONG.
SIDNEY IS UP IN MARYLAND WITH HER PARENTS STARTING HER EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TREATMENT.SHE TURNED 13 LAST WEEK. JULIE[HER MOM] AND HER FATHER WERE VERY UPSET BEFORE THEY LEFT FOR THE TRIP THERE. THEY WEREN'T SURE IF THEY MADE THE RIGHT MOVE ALLOWING THIS TREATMENT. NO DOCTOR WOULD TAKE THE CASE SO WHAT'S A MOM AND DAD TO DO? I DON'T HAVE BAD FEELINGS AT THIS TIMES, SO MAYBE IT'LL WORK.I DIDN'T LIKE ALL THE SIDE EFFECTS THOUGH.WITH ALL THE MILLIONS THEY HAVE RAISED WOULD YOU THINK A CURE WOULD BE FOUND. BUT THEN THE DOCTORS WOULDN'T BE RICH.
HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU.
